Electricity is among the problems faced by the community in Barangay Dalag Lumot, located in Marilog district.
The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Davao Light Power Company (DLPC) last February 5 will address the community’s problem, says company officials.
According to Vic Sumalinog, Davao Light Community Relations department manager, the MOA was fulfilled upon the request of the barangay.
He added that the MOA mandated the mayor to negotiate with Cotabato Electric Cooperative to connect the lines to more than 400 households, as beneficiaries of the project. These households were at least 1.5 kilometers from the last electric post of the said cooperative.
DLPC will provide the facilities such as posts, lines, transformers, and other accessories that will be connected to Cotabato Electric Cooperative.
Sumalinog said DLPC has allocated a budget of more than P1 million for the project.
Tapping of the line will start this month. |
