President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has less than four months to make good her promise to end the conflict in Mindanao, and she has already signified her intention to fulfill this. In recent statements, Mrs. Arroyo or her official family have expressed optimism a peace deal with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) can be signed before her term ends, and the return of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) last week does augur well for the peace negotiations.
