| Sec. Ebdane to DPWH: ‘Improve your capabilities based on teamwork’ |
Public Works and Highways Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. told employees of DPWH to “improve your capabilities based on teamwork and perform well.” Secretary Ebdane was here with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the latter’s visit in Davao as she made a “drive thru” the newly-completed Generoso Bridge at Bankerohan Wednesday June 18th. Ebdane, after handing the Special Recognition Awards to Community Partners held at the RDC conference room, DPWH regional office said that “we are one organization, a service-oriented department and we are here to serve the people.” “Sometimes you have to prepare another method which can be written and compiled in a new book. Even in war, there is no such thing as effective tactics at all times. Everytime there is a problem, there is always a solution to it,” he told his staff. “You cannot just copy the solution. You have to learn how to work on problems and find the right solution,” he further said. Secretary Ebdane, together with DPWH XI Director Jerome dela Rosa, ARD Rey Tamayo, Atty. Warly Cartagena and other officials, handed Special Recognition Awards in particular three (3) Community Partners: 1) the Mindanao Coalition of Development NGO Network (MINCODE) represented by Dolly Corro; GMA 7 Davao represented by Tek Ocampo; and 3) The Commission on Audit (COA) represented by Jocelyn Abad, Auditor region eleven. Across the country, the DPWH is celebrating today its 110th year of existence with this year’s theme as “DPWH: Building on the Strength and Experience of 110 Years of Bridging People.” Various activities have been lined-up in every regional offices and culminated their activities today June 23 on its 110th Year anniversary.
