‘Mutya’ finalists to
present projects

The five finalists for this year’s “Mutya ng Dabaw” will present their respective community projects at the NCCC Mall activity center today, March 11, 4 p.m..

Proposed community project (which is 10 percent) is among the criteria in choosing the winners of the said search. The Mutya ng Dabaw will be chosen also based on Intelligence (25%), Communication Skills (25%), Personality (25%), and Talent (15%).

The five finalists who will vie for the titles Sinag ng Dabaw, Patnubay ng Dabaw, Pag-asa ng Dabaw, Diwa ng Dabaw and the much-coveted Mutya ng Dabaw are Patrice M. Su, a 3rd year HRM student of the Ateneo de Davao University whose advocacy project is “Education to the youth”; Vanessa Ruth Chan, a nursing graduate of the San Pedro College whose advocacy project is “Child Welfare”; Richelle Ann Marie Liao, a 3rd year Mass Communication student of the Ateneo de Davao University whose advocacy project is “Livelihoood Program”; Franilyn A. Sendiong, a public administration student of the Ateneo de Davao University whose advocacy project is “integrated project in community development centered in youth“; and Resa Angeli Rizada, a nursing Graduate, San Pedro College, advocacy project is “social change through social entrepreneurship”

Winners of the search will receive the following prizes (plus matching grant from sponsoring foundation/organization): Mutya ng Dabaw  - P50,000 (P50,000), Diwa ng Dabaw - P40,000 (P40,000), Sinag ng Dabaw – P 30,000 (P30,000), Pag-asa ng Dabaw – P20,000 (P20,000), and Patnubay ng Dabaw – P10,000 (P10,000).

The coronation night will be on March 14 at the CAP Auditorium.
