A 25-year-old student hanged himself to death days after quarreling with his girlfriend in Mabini, Compostela Valley Province.

Mabini police identified the suicide as Lowel Sacayan, a resident of Mauswagon, Cuambog in Mabini.

Police said Sacayan had had a fight with his girlfriend a few days prior to his death.

His family observed that he was distraught for several days. They were shocked when he found his body hanging by a nylon rope at around 6 a.m. on March 8.

Police are still investigating the incident to ensure there was no foul play.
